this & other worldly glimpse

This & Other Worldly Glimpse was a group exhibition exploring the blurred boundary between reality and perspective, the delicate intersection between the familiar and the fantastical, the relationship between perception and expression. it was an invitation to move through the abstract moments between inner and outer worlds, and to consider the classical binary of matter and mind.

strangers.fm was presented within this context, extending the exhibition’s theme into participatory form. the 114 anonymous overheard conversations were installed collectively, allowing visitors to move through a web of voices, humorous, intimate, profound, mundane, each revealing the hidden interiority of everyday life. within the space, the work translated digital participation into physical presence, inviting audiences not only to read, but to recognise themselves within the fragments of others. the participant became the subject when they were invited to share their feelings with the typewriter after immersion in the web.
